This is a picture from one of our galleries here on campus. There is an exhibit on birds which I really like. This is one of the paintings they have hung up on the wall. What I love about this is the lighting (or painted lighting). It makes the central birds pop out and I find it very pleasing to the eye. The careful detail to shadows and light makes this image very three-dimensional. I also love how it's made out to be like a color pallet. Where it's brightest, the birds are colorful with blues, reds and yellows, but as the light grows darker the colors fade out into browns and blacks and whites.
