Hi friends!

Two weeks ago I got to go to the LA King's second to last game of the regular season (they blew it in the playoffs though and I'm bitter). I had been to several games before so I was really looking forward to see what they had in store.
First off it felt like a rock concert, tons of moving lights and color designed to excite fans and give them a pre-game adrenaline rush. The most memorable moment for me is in the pictures above. Right before the Kings came out on the ice they shifted the moving lights to create a cage like effect surrounding the rink. They then turned the lights darker and sent the light in pulses around the rink. It was a great set up effect to create anticipation for the game to start. Once the game started I gained a new appreciation for the game lighting itself. Like in a theater they dimmed the house lights and had large spots which tapered off at the ends of the rink. I'm excited to start looking at more events with a new appreciation for the effort and creative energy that goes into lighting.
