Hey y'all, my name is Mariah and this is my first time every using a blog. I took this picture of my hand on Thanksgiving 2017 as I was sitting on my aunts couch, waiting for my dad to fry the turkey. Behind both couches (the other couch is at the top right) are windows with a set of old school long black vinyl vertical blinds that have been there since well before I was born. As they do on every sunny day since I was a kid at around 3 or 4 in the late afternoon, the seams between the blinds allow beams of light to shine through, forming "tiny rainbows" as I like to call them. I've always enjoyed light and playing with rainbow light beams, they've always fascinated because growing up as kids we were always taught that rainbows only form when water is involved. And yet, there I was, just holding one on the back of my hand.

What also intrigues me about this photograph is that the beam of light shown through the other set of blinds behind the other couch on the right, is bending in a way that makes it appear as if there is a skylight. And yes, that is an episode of Friends on in the background. PIVOT!!
