So while gathering inspiration for my eurydice project this week I came across this photograph from thYi Peng Lantern Festival. I've always wanted to participate in an event like this because of the effect of the lanterns and the way they illuminate their surroundings; not really sure how great it is for the environment but for the sake of this project ill ignore the waste they product after they've fulfilled their purpose. I appreciate the red and orange light that the flame within the lantern produces on the young woman form. You don't really get a sense of what she looks like or her emotion but her participation in this large even definitely lets you know she's probably not an introvert. The contrast with the rest of the night sky gave me the impression that this festival may need to take place in an isolated areas away from large buildings that give off bright and more "clear" LED lights. The sheer volume of participates is also impactful because within the photography he lights and the lantern shades provide depth and perspective. Whenever I see pictures like these I always feel warm, not warm and fuzzy in the " wow this moment in this life that im sharing with my friends ( and also polluting the environment with light and lanterns) is something im going to remember for the rest of my life" its more of a : " all this fire makes me nervous for whoever uses excessive amounts of hairspray" kinda warmth. The red and orange huge with the contrast of the black sky is giving me  Hipster Halloween vibes, so basically its just  jack-o-lantern that dramatically floats away.
