B.C. Blog Post #3

Hey what's up everybody, got another cool image for ya!

This picture was taken just yesterday at Commissary Lounge here in Irvine. The gal in the picture and I are co-actors in a short film we are apart of. The short film is about two people falling in love and going through the motions of a relationship, and in this particular nightclub scene, our characters see each other a year after their break-up. This picture was caught while we were waiting for the crew to set up as the, believe it or not, lighting guy snapped the shot.

I think this image is very cool and love the spontaneity of it. This image feels like it could be the movie poster for our film almost. What I like about the lighting is that it's so minimal yet hints at so much. Like for example, given the context of a film or not, what does this image say about the dynamic between these two? Are they paying attention to each other? Does the color red represent anything romantic or is it anger/disdain? Do they cope by drinking? The layers that this image has are endless and I think that's what makes it unique. In addition, the ambient lighting from the alcohol bottles reminds me of how in the old days of theater, they used wine bottles with liquid in them to act as a filter.

Once again, thanks for reading!
