Post #3 Divine Sunbeam of Antelope Canyon
Some of you might have heard or seen this place. Antelope
Canyon is one of my favorite places. I was lucky to visit this place last
Memorial Day weekend and it was absolutely captivating. Upper Antelope Canyon is known
for the sunbeams but apparently, they can only be seen between 11am and 2 pm. We
went earlier and, unfortunately, did not see the famous huge beams. Upper Canyon is an A shape canyon, meaning it is narrow on the top and wide at the
bottom as opposed to Lower Canyon which is V shaped. So, it gets pretty dark inside because not enough light can sneak in. Sunbeams are very capricious however. Ha-ha. It's not guaranteed that you will see them during that time because it also depends on the weather. During sunbeam time, the rays of sun
shine inside the canyon through the narrow gaps creating the beams and
illuminating inside. It looks magical and divine. Because the inside is pretty dusty
it produces the same effect as the haze or smoke on stage.
